French Fries

When you think of French fries, what do you think of? McDonalds French fries? Crinkle cut? Fancy restaurant fries? Or do you think of crunchy homemade fries?

Honestly, if you ask me, those all come to mind when I think of French fries! They are just so good it doesn’t matter how they are made.

However, today I am sharing how I make my crunchy, homemade French fries in the air fryer.

Crunchy Air Fryer French Fries

When learning how to make homemade French fries in the air fryer, I found dozens of recipes, but none of them were exactly what I was looking for.

Either the recipe was too complicated with too many steps.

There were unnecessary steps, like soaking the potatoes in water. While you can do this for a different result, it’s just not necessary.

So, I came up with my own process and I’m sharing that with you today.

What You Need:

  • Whole Russet Potatoes
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Dried or Fresh Parsley
  • Air Fryer

Here’s What To Do:

Start by giving the potatoes a good scrubbing under warm water to remove any dirt.

Next, you are going to cut your potatoes into desired sizes. I like to cut my potato in half, lengthwise. Slice into thin fries, and then cut slice in half again so that they are not thicker in width.

Honestly, I found this French fry cutter on Amazon. If you like to make fries a lot, this would be great to have and would save a ton of time!

Once your potatoes are cut, you can put them into a bowl and coat them with a couple tablespoons of olive or avocado oil. You don’t need a lot since they’re going into the air fryer.

Add the remaining seasonings, except for the cheese, and give them a good mixing so everything is evenly coated.

Turn on the air fryer, set to 390 and let heat up for about 3 minutes or so.

When it is ready, set to 390, and place a small about of fries into the bucket and cook for 18 minutes. Make sure to pause the air fryer and shake or toss the fries around so that everything cooks evenly.

Once they have reached the desired crispness, you can remove them and place them on a lined plate or bowl. This is when you will sprinkle on the parmesan cheese.

Now they are ready to enjoy!

Homemade French Fries in the Air Fryer

These french fries are so easy to make and again, there’s really no fuss in making them. Just wash, cut, season, air fry, and enjoy! Super simple and no hassle!

If there are any leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator and heat them up the next day in the air fryer. This will help them get back to a crispy, crunchy state again. Add a bit more salt and parmesan cheese, and voila!
