All Purpose Cleaner
I’m sure you have heard by now that the the cleaners we’re sold in stores are filled with chemicals and toxins doing a great deal of damage to our bodies. Yes, this is true, and no it’s not meant to scare you.
Sometimes the nastiest of messes need some bleach and some colds you feel safest with that spray can of cleaner. I know there’s a time and place for certain cleaners, don’t get me wrong.
However, what about simple messes, say the kitchen counter or floors that need mopped? What if I told you you could make a natural all purpose cleaner with only two ingredients you probably already have on hand? Yep, it’s true and I highly recommend giving it a try!
Two Ingredient All Purpose Cleaner
This two ingredient all purpose cleaner is a fabulous alternative to anything you will find in stores. Seriously. With two of the most natural ingredients, no chemicals, no perfumes or fragrances, and absolutely no toxins, you are safe to use this all over your home.
What you need:
- Orange peels – I’ve used mandarins, clementines, doesn’t have to be a Florida orange
- White Vinegar
- Essential Oils – Optional: I like thyme, orange, lemon, or peppermint for this cleaner
- Pine Needles – Optional
- Lemons – optional
- Amber Glass Spray Bottle
What to do:
All you need to do to make this two ingredient all purpose cleaner is add your orange peels to a mason jar and fill to the top with vinegar, and allow to sit for 3-4 weeks. That’s it!
If you would like to add pine needles or lemon peels, you can do this when you add the orange peels.
If you would like to add essential oils, simply add 10-20 drops before you put the lid on.
It’s really that simple!
If you want to add more disinfectant properties, add Thyme when you add in the orange peels. Thyme when broken down is a natural disinfectant. You can also achieve this with Thyme essential oil.
