We’ve had our air fryer for a few months now and I absolutely love it! I have made so many different foods in it from shrimp to chicken, potatoes, French fries, to veggies. So far my favorite food to make has got to be this super simple air fried broccoli in less than 8 minutes!

Air Fryer

We love our air fryer! We received ours as a Christmas gift this last year and it has paid for itself tenfold already. I love making homemade French fries in it and it’s probably my kids favorite thing I make with it.

We have this Air Fryer.

To be honest, I didn’t get the hype of having an air fryer and goodness was I missing out!

In the three months we have had ours, I have made:

  • Shrimp
  • Chicken Wings
  • Chicken Breast
  • Zucchini
  • Asparagus
  • French Fries
  • Sweet Potato Fries
  • Broccoli
  • Chicken Fingers
  • Frozen Chicken Fingers
  • Frozen French Fries

I mean the list really does go on and on so I won’t bore you with more of it but you can see that basically whatever you can make on the grill or in the oven you can make in an air fryer.

One option that our air fryer comes with that I have yet to try is a dehydrator option! Hello preservation!! I am so excited to try it but I am dragging my feet. A blog post is sure to come when I get around to trying it out!

8 Minute Broccoli

This broccoli truly is the best way I have ever made it!

I love steaming the broccoli in the microwave and then throwing it in a pan to crisp it up a bit, the grill is amazing and don’t get me started with oven roasting it! yummmm

However, this recipe to air fry the broccoli is loved by my whole family, and with picky toddlers that’s saying something! I think they like the crunch to it.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 Cups Fresh Broccoli
  • 1-2 tbs Olive or Avocado Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

Here’s what you will do:

Start by washing and cutting the broccoli into bite size pieces. We don’t like the stems so its mostly just florets that we use.

Set the air fryer to 390 degrees and let heat up for 3 minutes.

While the air fryer is heating, drizzle your oil over the broccoli as well as any seasonings you prefer.

When the air fryer has heated, add the broccoli into the bucket with the plate on the bottom and set the timer for 8 minutes. Shake the bucket every 2 1/2 minutes so that the broccoli can stay crunchy and heat through without getting soggy.

When you shake the bucket, you will want to keep an eye on the broccoli so that it does not get too crispy or else you will get more of a charred veggie than a crunchy one.

Storage

To be honest, we rarely have leftovers in this house but on the occasion I was able to store some of this air fried broccoli, it was great even the next day.

There you have it, a super simple 8 minute air fried broccoli recipe. So tasty, crunchy, and the best part – healthy! Nothing better than healthy food being fast and delicious food!
